The pool does not protect against mile expiration!
- Each mile keeps its original expiration date (36 months after earning)
- When redeeming, the miles with the earliest expiration are used first
- Protected miles (via an M&M credit card) are redeemed last

Here’s how you protect the pool miles from expiring:
Achtung Falle: Your M&M credit card only protects YOUR miles – not your partner’s! If your partner doesn’t have their own M&M credit card, their miles expire after 36 months – even if they’re sitting in the pool. Every pool member needs their own card activity!
Every pool member should have a Miles & More credit card. Then every card transaction counts as activity and your own miles don’t expire.

6-month lockout after leaving
If you leave a pool:
- The miles you contributed stay in the pool
- You cannot join a new pool for 6 months
- This rule prevents “pool hopping”
